According to information from Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Kandilli Observatory, the earthquake occurred at 10:40 a.m. local time at a depth of 5.4 kilometers below the surface.
The earthquake was felt in several surrounding cities, including Diyarbakir, Gaziantep and Malatya.
AFAD said assessments of potential damage caused by the earthquake are ongoing.
