Zaidi, Erdogan agree on ‘gradual handover’ of Turkish military base near Mosul: Joint statement

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed their mutual commitment to pull back Turkish troops from a base in northeast Mosul established in 2015, a joint statement shared by Zaidi’s office said Wednesday, citing the fulfillment of “security measures” that include ending the presence of proscribed "foreign armed elements” in Shingal (Sinjar).
