ERBIL () - President Masoud Barzani received Liu Jun, the Chinese Consul General in Erbil, on Wednesday, at his headquarters in Pirmam, in a farewell meeting marking the end of the diplomat's term in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, Liu Jun expressed his appreciation for the struggle, resilience, and sacrifices of the people of Kurdistan, affirming that his work in the Kurdistan Region had been a rich and meaningful experience.
He said he hoped to see further stability and progress in the Kurdistan Region, noting that China wished to strengthen its relations with the region in the fields of economy, education, and technology.
For his part, President Barzani thanked the Chinese consul general for the prominent role he played during his tenure in deepening the bonds of friendship and relations between China and the Kurdistan Region, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
President Barzani also expressed appreciation for the role of Chinese civilization in human history, praising the efforts of the Chinese leadership to achieve prosperity for their country and contribute to stability and progress worldwide.
