ERBIL () - Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Holly Vare, the newly appointed United Kingdom Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, on Sunday, in a meeting focused on strengthening ties between Erbil and London.

According to a statement published on the Kurdistan Regional Government's official website, Prime Minister Barzani congratulated Vare on assuming her post and reaffirmed the KRG's full support for her mission. He underscored the importance of deepening the relationship between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom moving forward.

Vare, for her part, expressed her pleasure at beginning her tenure in the Kurdistan Region. She reiterated the United Kingdom's desire to advance bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors.

The meeting also touched on the KRG's broader reform agenda across government institutions. Vare praised the unification of the Peshmerga forces, commending the progress achieved through reforms carried out by the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs.
